Before becoming a freelance copywriter, I worked for:
London Business School
Marketing Manager for Executive Education
I increased the sales of existing programmes and successfully launched nine new programmes (as part of the open programmes team).
My responsibilities included:
- marketing strategy and planning
- leading a communications review which resulted in a new corporate identity
- producing promotional material including brochures, direct mail, advertisements and public relations pieces
- managing the marketing team
- managing the c. £1,000,000 marketing budget.
I wrote some of the copy for the brochures, direct mail letters, advertisements and magazine pieces myself.
I also managed our freelance copywriters. I briefed them and reviewed and edited their work.
Recommendation from the Associate Dean of Executive Education (former) of London Business School
“Margaret contributed very effectively to the work of the marketing department while at London Business School as the Marketing Manager. She had a very responsible attitude to work, was very thorough and had a strong grasp of key marketing concepts.”
FT Knowledge I improved the customer experience of the two programmes that I managed. I also introduced greater customer focus into the programme management at FT Knowledge in general. I ran the pilot programmes and developed the courses with our partner, Michigan Business School. I wrote a report about the pilots which detailed the customers’ experience of the courses and described competing products. In response to this report, FT Knowledge and Michigan changed the presentation and content of the programmes. Recommendation from the Managing Director Executive Education (former) of FT Knowledge “Margaret used customer feedback to improve the presentation and delivery of the courses that she managed. She walked the customers through the pilot programmes and reported on their experiences which enabled us to understand customers’ requirements much better.” Education
Programme Manager for the Michigan e-learning programmes
